It is time for the next round of controversial Christmas opinions. This time, I’m talking movies. And I am considering the Christmas specials (30 minute cartoons usually) as movies for this. Throw all the snowballs and coal you want.
- The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause
- Elf
- The Santa Clause
- Rise of the Guardians
- Fred Claus
- A Christmas Story
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey)
- The Polar Express
- Star Wars Lego Christmas Special
- A Muppets Christmas Carol
Honorable mentions include The Christmas Chronicles, Four Christmases, Prep and Landing, all the classic Christmas cartoons, Klaus on Netflix, and Last Christmas (just because of all the Wham!).
You probably noticed that The Santa Clause 2 was not listed. It’s not because I don’t like it… It’s just meh compared to the other two. It has it’s moments, particularly with evil toy Santa and the faculty Christmas party. I just don’t gravitate towards it as a whole. Also, how in the world did Curtis get the role of Head Elf after he almost destroyed Christmas… twice?!?! Let us not forget he was the one who told Jack Frost how the Escape Clause worked. Bernard would never.
Also I am not a big fan of Hallmark Christmas movies and other movies like it (Netflix). Yes, they are cute and fun. I just can tolerate like 2 of those movies a season. And I have not watched any of the Christmas Prince movies nor the Vanessa Hudgens movies. That may be anti- Christmas. I just never had the desire to watch. Give me comedic Santa movies any day.
AND DIE HARD IS NOT A CHRISTMAS MOVIE. It is just a movie that happens to occur around Christmas. There. I said it.
