HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Today is practically perfect in every way. After my Beetlejuice last year, I figured I should tone it down just a little bit. The green wig and black/ green lipstick really pushed the boundaries of business casual.

So, this Halloween is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It’s another one that falls more under the Disney Bound category, but I’m super proud of it! And, I guess you can say my choice was biased as I am super excited for Mary Poppins Returns in December. I even made the hat myself! Only a few fingers were burned by hot glue in the process.

Happy Halloween everyone! What did you dress up as?

Countdown to Halloween- 1

Day seven of the Halloween Costume Countdown! Tomorrow is the big day!!

A reminder: not all costumes will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

The last costume of the countdown was for a Halloween party last year. While I still wanted to do Beetlejuice (as evidenced by my makeup, wig, and shirt choice), we decided to do a group costume of Cards Against Humanity. It was super simple to have the t-shirts made, and we brought previously selected white cards for people to play when we got to the party. My husband has a shirt as well, but he could not get off work that day. I don’t remember what his black card was, but it is somewhere in his dresser. It was a lot of fun and a great way to do a group costume if anyone needs ideas!

Day six of the Halloween Costume Countdown! Happy Monday!

I love this picture because my cousin and I are SUPER adorable. She helped me plan a 50’s diner themed 31 Gifts party a couple of years ago. I was using the party to help me get my bridesmaid gifts (personalized pillows with a thing relating to each of my girls’ favorite Disney lady), and we had milkshakes and yummy snacks. The skirt is still in my closet, and I almost Pink Lady-ed it this year with my pink fake leather jacket.

Day five of the Halloween Costume Countdown!

A reminder: not all costumes will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

Since yesterday was Star Wars Saturday, today is Slytherin Sunday. My robes and scarf are from Universal Studios. Not pictured is my wand that I received from Olivander’s after being chosen for the wand ceremony my first trip to Hogsmede. I wear this get up randomly throughout the year and to Fantastic Beasts movie releases. Last time I was the only one dressed up in the theater, so hopefully this year more people will be in the spirit.

Only a few more days to go! Anyone have any guesses of what my costume will be this year?

Countdown to Halloween- 4

Day four of the Halloween Costume Countdown!

A reminder: not all costumes will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

It’s Star Wars Saturday. Both outfits were worn to work on the release dates of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. I guess Rey’s buns were a lot more subtle than Leia’s as my coworkers really didn’t think I dressed up when they really should have known better.

Day three of the Halloween Costume Countdown!

A reminder: not all costumes will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

In honor of Sabrina being uploaded on to Netflix today, I’m going to be a little witchy. This was probably just me being dumb and having fun around the house, but every witch needs a cat. Getti is the perfect choice as he’s got the sass and attitude of the Salem us 90 kids know and love. I’m really excited for the new series, and I really hope it doesn’t suck.

Disclaimer: I did not plan this knowing about the Witch’s Brew Frap that Starbucks has this weekend. I may get one later just to take part in what is obviously Witch Friday.fb_img_15404240089408632410606611917193.jpg

Countdown to Halloween- 6

Day two of the Halloween Costume Countdown!

A reminder: not all costumes will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

Today’s is more of a Disney Bound outfit than costume (there are a few of those actually). I have had this Flounder since I was like two, and he’s actually sitting next to me on the couch now 23 years later. The dress was a gift from my now-husband, then boyfriend, and I actually wore this to my mom’s preschool class to sing with them and teach them some sign language (after all Ariel did have to communicate without her voice). I may bring this back one day, but I need a better wig.

Countdown to Halloween- 7

We’re a week away from my favorite holiday of the year, so I have decided to count it down by posting past costumes of mine. Not all of them will be Halloween costumes because I just love any excuse to dress up. On Halloween, I will post what I decided to wear for my annual work appropriate costume.

The first one is from Halloween a couple of years ago, and I am choosing this one because today is my amazing mom’s birthday. She was dressed as Honey Lemon from Big Hero 6. My brother was Reptile from Mortal Kombat, and I was zombie Cinderella (live action movie). My brother did my and his makeup. He is extremely artistic and creative and I am a little jealous.

Let’s Get Nerdy

I am twenty-five years old. I have a professional career in an office. I love dressing up. My cosplay skills are very amateur, but I take every opportunity I can to costume it up. I mean, I attempted a business casual Obi Wan on May 4th, and I had Leia buns when episode 7 was released. I also wore my Slytherin robes to work one day (I don’t remember why, so don’t ask), and I bought a dress because it reminded me of Cinderella:FB_IMG_1532809899171.jpg

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I am the one one in my firm who wears something to work (I do keep it as business casual as possible). The past couple years have produced my Cruella De Vil and Beetlejuice get ups, but I have so much more planned in my head.

I have gone to Dragon*Con twice- once was a one day last minute thing and the other was the full weekend. I attempted to sew my Belle cosplay, but I underestimated the amount of time it would take and I was working full time and planning my wedding. Still, I managed to have four outfits:

Glinda the Good Witch

As of now I do not have any plans to go to another con (I really need to get that exam passed), but is is about time to start planning this year’s Halloween costume. I have a few ideas- a couple of which follow my villains theme of the past couple Halloweens- but it’s a matter of execution without breaking the budget.

I just got caught up on Doctor Who. Missy is the greatest. She’s practically a demented Mary Poppins- a costume I could mostly put together with things in my closet. I’m pretty sure no one at work would know the difference, though, so while fun, Missy may be too obscure.

Marie from the Aristocats would be easy. White dress, pink bows, maybe some cat ears. It would probably be REALLY cute and I could wear it again the next time I go to Disney World as a DisneyBound outfit. I just have none of the pieces in my wardrobe already, and that could be an issue.

Currently, my third and final idea is genderbent Gaston. I have already done a genderbend with my Beetlejuice from last year, and Gaston is just great. The outfit would be another DisneyBound option- just need a red shirt, black pants, boots and that big buckle belt he has. With the right shirt/ maybe dress I could even do black leggings. The yellow collar and gloves would be tricky if I wanted to be super detailed, but everything else would work.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Who do you like to cosplay as? Let me know in the comments!
